Likyra app — Privacy Policy
Last updated: 24 October 2026
This policy covers the Likyra mobile app for iPhone and Android and its web version (together, "the app"). The app is a free social network where people and businesses share posts, reels and stories, follow each other and send messages. It is run by Likyra ("we", "us"). Contact: hello@likyra.com.
1. What we collect
- Account: e-mail address, username, display name, password (stored only as a secure one-way hash), account type (personal or professional), preferred language, and optional profile details you add (photo, bio, role, company, industry, city, website).
- Content you create: posts, reels, stories, photos, videos, captions, comments, story answers and votes, requests, and direct messages including photos you send.
- Activity: follows, likes, saves, views of posts and stories, profile visits, close-friends lists, blocks, reports, and which inbox folder you put a chat in. We use this to run features like the For You feed, insights and streaks.
- Device: a push notification token if you allow notifications. We do not collect advertising identifiers.
- Payments (only if you promote a post on the web): what you bought and when. Card details are handled by Stripe; we never see or store your full card number.
We do not collect your precise location, contacts, or browsing history from other apps, and we do not track you across other companies' apps or websites.
2. Camera, photos and microphone
The app asks for access to your camera, photo library and microphone only so you can take or choose photos and videos to post or send. Nothing is uploaded until you choose to share it.
3. Why we use your data
- To provide the app: your account, profile, feed, messages and notifications (performance of our contract with you).
- To keep people safe: filtering banned words, handling reports, and removing content or accounts that break our rules (legitimate interest and legal obligation).
- To translate posts and messages into your language when you tap "See translation" (your request).
- To keep the service secure and fix problems (legitimate interest).
4. Who can see what
Your profile, posts, reels and comments are visible to other app users. Stories are visible for 24 hours to everyone or, if you choose, only your close friends. Direct messages are visible only to you and the person you are talking to, and to our moderation team if a message is reported. Blocked people cannot see your content or message you.
5. Service providers
We share data only with providers that help us run the app, under contracts that protect it: hosting (Hetzner, Germany), translation by AI (Anthropic — only the text you ask to translate), push delivery (Expo, Apple and Google), and payments (Stripe). We never sell your personal data and we do not show third-party ads.
6. How long we keep it
We keep your data while your account exists. When you delete your account, your profile, posts, stories, comments, likes, follows and messages are deleted immediately, and server backups are overwritten within 30 days. Payment records are kept as long as tax law requires. Reports about rule-breaking may be kept up to 12 months to protect other users.
7. Your rights
You can see and edit your profile in the app, get a copy of your data by writing to us, and delete your account at any time in Settings → Delete account or on our delete account page. Depending on where you live (for example under the EU/UK GDPR or California law) you may also have the right to object, restrict processing or complain to a data protection authority.
8. Children
The app is not for children under 13 (or the higher minimum age where you live). We delete accounts we learn belong to a younger child. See our child safety standards.
9. International transfers and security
Data is stored in Germany (EU). Where providers process data outside the EU, we use standard contractual clauses. Connections are encrypted (HTTPS), passwords are hashed, and access to the moderation tools is restricted.
10. Changes
We will tell you in the app about important changes to this policy before they apply.
